Right Care Gainesville organized and held an Open Table conversation on imagining the ideal health care system on November 19, 2019. The event was co-sponsored with the Alachua County Labor Coalition. Dr. Chad Hood discussed Medicare for All, and Ricky Ashby reviewed proposals in Congress for expanding health coverage. The group then discussed what they each wanted to see in their ideal health system. More funding and attention on end of life care came up in the conversation. Other participants talked about how to pay for a single payer system. They are now considering holding more Open Tables such as this one, so if you live in Gainesville, you have another chance to attend an event like this!
